Junior Season
Named first team All-WAC
Led team in scoring, assists and and minutes
His 1,500 points in seventh all-time in school history

1998 WAC Pacific Division Freshman of the Year…it was the second straight season in which a Mustang was named the conference's POY (Stephen Woods won it in '97). Sasser and Woods become just the second guard tandem in NCAA history to earn their league's Freshman of the Year Award in consecutive seasons (Mark Price and Bruce Dalrymple won it in '83 and '84)
Became the first freshman to lead SMU in rebounding since Jon Koncak in '81-82)

His older brother, Jason, was a two-time Southwest Conference Player of the Year for Texas Tech.
Jeryl originally wanted to wear No. 33 in HS, but the number was already retired in honor of Jason
Jeryl's No. 5 has since been retired at Kimball HS
His father, Jeryl, played basketball at Noth Texas and his grandfather, John Barber, played with the Harlem Globetrotters and with the St. Louis Hawks during the '56-57 season
