Lamont Long

Allsport
Position: Shooting Guard
College: New Mexico
Conference: Mountain West
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 190
Age: 22
Birthdate: 12/01/77
High School: Corona del Sol, Tempe, Ariz.

Long was versatile enough to play both guard spots at New Mexico. A slasher and a penetrator, Long can score off the dribble with either hand. He's also a decent 3-point shooter (37 percent as a senior). Long averaged an impressive 5.2 rebounds. He has the ability to cash in on his penchant for driving and crashing the glass by making free throws; he shot 80 percent from the line this season. At 18.7 points per game, Long led the Mountain West Conference in scoring. He was a first-team All-MWC pick and finished as New Mexico's third all-time scorer, with 1,840 points.
