Jimmie Hunter
Position: Shooting Guard
College: Life University
Conference: -
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 175
Age:
Birthdate:
High School: Trezvant, Memphis, Tenn.

*Early entry

Not many people have heard of Hunter, but in a year (1997) that produced a ton of great players from talent-rich Memphis (Tony Harris, Marcus Moody, Cory Bradford, Robert O'Kelly, John Grice), most people thought Hunter was clearly the most gifted. Hunter is a legend in the NBA/College summer league in Memphis, the Bluff City Classic, having been chosen MVP the past two summers. Hunter started his career at Memphis, couldn't handle the academic load and transferred to Life, which he helped lead to its second straight NAIA title. Hunter, who averaged 22 points, was chosen player of the year in the NAIA and was also the tournament MVP. He's a streaky shooter but a great athlete who can handle the ball well and has great court vision. That makes him a decent playmaker. He sometimes plays out of control and needs work on his defense, but he might be a steal in the second round.
