*Early entry

El-Amin looks like the least likely superstar on the court, with his sawed-off, chunky frame. Proving once again that stature matters little if you can play, El-Amin has earned a reputation as a winner. It started back in high school, where he led Minneapolis North to three straight state titles. As a sophomore at UConn, El-Amin led the Huskies to their first NCAA championship, in 1999. This season, playing on a team not quite as good as the previous year, El-Amin took the Huskies as far as he could before a severe ankle sprain left him at less than half speed in a season-ending NCAA tournament loss to Tennessee. El-Amin is a scoring point guard, which means he's capable of getting points or helping teammates get them. He's a good guy to have on your side at crunch time, because he isn't afraid to have the ball in his hands. He can also make free throws, which means that any team El-Amin plays on can close out wins down the stretch.
