T.J. Lux
Position: Power Forward
College: Northern Illinois
Conference: Mid American
Height: 6'9"
Weight: 230
Age: 23
Birthdate: 04/29/77
High School: Merriville HS, Merriville, Ind.

Lux had two keys to success in his college career: brains and work ethic. How smart was he? And how hard was he willing to work? One postseason award reveals a lot. Lux, who had made the COSIDA Academic All-American team the previous two seasons he was eligible (he redshirted in '98-99 because of a bad case of shin splints), was chosen the GTE Academic All-American of the Year in 1999-2000. He didn't do badly on the court, either, averaging 19.9 points and 8.9 rebounds to earn first-team All-Mid American Conference honors. Lux, who led the MAC in rebounding his first three years, finished as Northern Illinois' all-time leader in points (1,996) and rebounds (1,110). He also set a school record with 59 blocked shots. Lux spent the summer playing for a German professional team, where he worked hard on shooting and ball handling.
