Freeman gave it his best last season as he tried to fill in for the departed Richard Hamilton at small forward. But his perimeter skills weren't near the level of Hamilton's, and he moved back to power forward, where he is far better suited. He has good strength and hands and was quicker than most opponents he faced in college. That enabled him to get into good scoring position. He can make mid-range jumpers (he shot .483 from the field) but struggles past that (.286 from 3-point range). Freeman suffered an elbow injury and missed part of one game and all of another at the pre-draft camp in Phoenix but was extended an invitation to Chicago.
