Desmond Mason
Drafted by Seattle SuperSonics in Round 1, pick 17

Allsport
Position: Small Forward
College: Oklahoma St.
Conference: Big Twelve
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 217
Age: 22
Birthdate: 10/11/77
High School: Waxahachie HS, Waxahachie, Texas

A true Renaissance man, Mason can do it all, off the court and on. On the court, he expresses himself through slam dunks and 3-pointers. Off the court, he expresses himself on the canvas -- Mason is an accomplished artist. The same could be said for his basketball skills. The first-team All-Big 12 pick put together a great senior season, averaging a team-high 18 points for a good team. Mason shot well from the field (.499), 3-point range (.430) and the free-throw line (.767). He rebounds like a madman from the small-forward position; he averaged 6.6 boards as a senior. His game is versatile enough to find steady employment in the NBA.
