Sixers lose Snow for rest of series

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- An MRI on Tuesday confirmed that Philadelphia 76ers point guard Eric Snow will miss the rest of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Indiana Pacers. Dr. Jack McPhilemy, a team physician, said tests showed no signs of significant healing of the chip fracture in his right ankle that kept Snow from playing in the final two games of the first-round series against the Charlotte Hornets. "We plan to immobilize him for a week or so, and we will continue to evaluate him on a day-to-day basis beyond that," McPhilemy said. "Eric will not play the remainder of the series against the Indiana Pacers." Snow played 26 minutes, scoring six points, in the opener against the Pacers. He played 23 minutes, just four in the second half, and had two points Monday night as the Pacers beat the 76ers 103-97 to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. On Monday night, Snow said he wouldn't play again this season. Game 3 is Wednesday night in Philadelphia. Aaron McKie will start at point guard in Snow's absence and reserve Kevin Ollie is likely to get more playing time, though they are both are nursing injuries as well. A sprained left thumb and a sore hip left McKie limping off the court Monday, and Ollie has a left knee contusion.
