PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Trail Blazers forward Dale Davis was suspended for one game without pay and fined $15,000 by the NBA on Friday for elbowing the Lakers' Robert Horry during Game 2 of their playoff series.

Portland's Stacey Augmon was given a one-game suspension and a $5,000 fine for leaving the bench. Davis and Augmon will miss Sunday's Game 3 at the Rose Garden. The Lakers lead the best-of-five series 2-0.

The Blazers were fined $5,000 for having a player leave the bench area.

Davis was ejected with 8:46 to play for wildly throwing an elbow at Horry's head. Davis was angry at Horry for running into him while the players were going for the rebound on a miss by Portland's Rasheed Wallace.

Although Horry was called for a foul, Davis reared back and threw his left elbow. The blow knocked Horry down along the baseline near the Lakers' basket, and Davis was ejected.

It happened with the Lakers leading by 12 points, and they went on to win 106-88.

Blazers coach Mike Dunleavy said he thought Davis didn't know Horry had been called for the foul, and that Davis was frustrated at "getting beat up all night" by Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal.

"I don't think he meant to tag Horry with an elbow, but I think he meant just like Shaq does every time he swings his elbow," Dunleavy said. "That could happen four or five times a game the way Shaq does his. He just hasn't connected yet."

The Blazers were assessed a total of five technical fouls and a flagrant foul in the quarter. Wallace was ejected with 4:42 left, and Scottie Pippen, Steve Smith and Damon Stoudamire also received technicals.

The normally mild-mannered Davis has been driven to distraction trying to guard O'Neal. He was hit with a flagrant foul in Game 1, and fouled out after playing just nine minutes. All six of his fouls were against O'Neal. Davis also was fined $7,500 for verbally abusing the officials as he left the court.

On Thursday night, Davis played just 11 minutes, getting one point and two rebounds.

Davis and Augmon were not made available to reporters by the Blazers on Friday.
