CHICAGO -- Like a hungry lion, Bulls head coach Tim Floyd stalked around the practice court Friday. "Move the ------- ball!," he hollered, the veins nearly popping on his forehead. "Clean up the fouls!" he shouted a few minutes later.

Moments later, Floyd the Barber had his razor out again, stopping a fast break to chastise some lazy transition defense by the big men. "We just spent 30 minutes on this!," he bellowed. "I have not seen a 3-4-5 get back yet!"

Few NBA head coaches have a tougher job this season than Floyd, who it should be noted also praised some of the play during the scrimmage. But with eight new players in camp, including Ron Mercer, Brad Miller, Dragan Tarlac, as well as rookies Marcus Fizer and Jamal Crawford, to a team that finished 17-65 a year ago, it's clear that Floyd's patience -- if not his vocal chords -- will be strained this season.

"It's nothing new. He stays on us," Bulls forward Elton Brand said, shrugging off Floyd's practice diatribes. "He has high expectations for us."

Floyd, 30-102 in his first two seasons, has had to teach the team's triple post offense to a revolving door of players during his time in Chicago. Tarlac, a 6'10" center from Yugoslavia, didn't make his first appearance in camp until Friday because of visa problems. No wonder the coach is on edge.
