DALLAS (AP) -- The Dallas Mavericks announced new guidelines regarding noise makers for games at American Airlines Center.

Team officials say the goal is to make the complex as safe as possible for NBA playoff games.

All non-approved noisemakers or similar items will be confiscated.

The list of what's not allowed includes:

  • drums and other musical instruments
  • airhorns
  • bullhorns
  • electronically amplified noisemakers
  • lasers or lights
  • sirens
  • boat horns
  • cap guns
  • pennies in a jar
