Kobe Bryant saw his opening, and he took it. After scoring 22 and 24 points in Games 1 and 2, respectively, the Lakers' All-NBA guard finally broke out in Game 3. Kobe poured in 36 on 14-of-23 shooting to lead Los Angeles to the 106-103 victory and a commanding 3-0 series lead. |

The good news for Kerry Kittles is that he hit 50 percent of his shots. The bad news is that he took only six attempts. The Nets two-guard scored just seven points in Game 3 (he was the only starter not in double figures) and completely disappeared during the critical fourth quarter. |

With 19.1 seconds left, Kobe defined the word "dagger." With his Lakers clinging to a two-point lead and Jason Kidd draped all over him, Kobe nailed a clutch 10-foot jumpshot. The basket pushed L.A.'s lead to 104-100, further dimming the Nets' meager comeback hopes. |

We're sensing a theme here. For the third consecutive game, Shaq lit up Todd MacCulloch right from the opening tip and helped get his team an early lead in the process. After seven minutes of play, Shaq was 4-of-5 from the field (nine points) and the Lakers were up 22-14. |
