KIRK HINRICH
Kirk Hinrich - PG Position: PG
School: Kansas
High School: Sioux City West (IA)
Conference: Big 12
Ht., Wt.: 6'3, 190

Selected by Chicago Bulls
Round 1, pick 7 (7 overall)
BIO: Hinrich had an illustrious four-year career at Kansas, leading the Jayhawks to back-to-back Final Fours his last two years. Hinrich averaged 17.3 points and 3.5 assists last season for Kansas, which went 30-8. Hinrich was an All-Big 12 first team selection and was also named to the All-Final Four team. The Iowa native is a decent shooter who made 41 percent of his 3-pointers a year ago. He averaged 6.9 assists as a sophomore and his numbers went down in that department in his final two years of college as he took on more of a scoring load.

ANALYSIS: This son of a coach is as fundamentally sound as they come with an ability to make major contributions on both ends of the floor. A point guard by trade who didn't have to play the position all that much in college, where he also had the reputation of being a game-breaking shooter. Hinrich is also a great passer and really knows how and when to distribute the ball. Best of all, defenses don't know what he'll do, making him hard to guard. His deadly jumper forces teams to play him honestly. If he has a weakness, it's that he'll have to get stronger to absorb the rigors of the long NBA seasons.

POSITIVES: Hinrich is a tough kid who knows the game. He does not often get credit for his athleticism, but he is quick with good hops. Furthermore, Hinrich has above-average size at point guard and makes people around him better. With a strong outside shot and all the attributes that one looks for in a floor general, it is hard to believe that Hinrich will fail at the next level.

NEGATIVES: The biggest strength of Hinrich's game is his lack of weaknesses. Coaches will likely ask him to get stronger in order to improve defensively, but by no means is Hinrich a liability on that end of the floor.
