My body is ready.

[–]KnickspeteyH 10 points11 points ago

You guys also need to beat the Spurs...

[–]Sunspovverslave 40 points41 points ago

one step at a time.

[–]Mavsmattotx 16 points17 points ago

Spurs could be resting starters though

[–]Mavswafrhest 6 points7 points ago*

And knowing Pop's coaching style, he isn't afraid to do that and is using it as a good strategy to rest his aging and weary stars by the end of the season. The Spurs have great depth off the bench which allows Pop to do this.

[–]TimberwolvesDaices 10 points11 points ago

If the Suns win, the Spurs can pretty much decide who they want to play in the first round, Suns or Jazz. If they throw the game, they will get the Suns in the first round, and if they try to win the game, which they probably will, they will probably get the Jazz in the first round, providing the Jazz win their last game against the trailblazers.

[–]SpursMaynardJayTwa 5 points6 points ago

I really want to play the because Steve Nash, two because we crushed them in the regular season.

[–]Sunsairforcefalco 2 points3 points ago

So you're saying that you want to crush the legend that has no rings, aka Steve Nash?

[–]SpursMaynardJayTwa 1 point2 points ago

No. Bc matchup reasons.

[–]Sunsairforcefalco 0 points1 point ago

I jest but it would be nice to play the Spurs and make up for the regular season.

[–]USAlyricist -1 points0 points ago

Basketball reasons.

[–]LakersGo0n 0 points1 point ago

We want to see Nash ride into battle once again. Nobody wants to crush him, a gentle defeat would be much better for all involved. Also, he deserves a ring. We'll trade you Neal & Splitter for him.

[–]rynosoft 1 point2 points ago

They should play hard for 45 minutes. If they are ahead at that time, throw the game.

[–]Sunsm3lvn 2 points3 points ago

unfortunately, the spurs jv team are good enough to win against the suns

[–]SunsG1RCH 4 points5 points ago

you suck melvin... where is your hope

[–]Sunsm3lvn 0 points1 point ago

Oh, I hope the suns win. I've been hoping all year. But hope doesn't change the fact that the suns might lose to the spurs jv squad. Heck, the jazz almost did.

[–]SunsG1RCH 0 points1 point ago

yeah they have been quite a disappointment this year for sure

[–]Sunsm3lvn 0 points1 point ago

for the lack of talent on the squad, they've exceeded my expectations. An ESPN commentator said it best: what other player besides Nash and Gortat is a starter on any other team?

[–]SunsG1RCH 1 point2 points ago

ha ha valid point

[–]SpursMaynardJayTwa 2 points3 points ago

Patty Mills!

[–]AustraliaProcc 0 points1 point ago

Australia represent!

[–]JazzFilm_Director 8 points9 points ago

Spurs locked up the #1 spot; no Duncan,Parker or Ginobili (saving them for the playoffs).

[–]NBADeli1181 2 points3 points ago

You don't think Spurs will move to lock-in the top record in the league? Home court in the finals could make a huge difference.

My guess is they'll rest Manu and Duncan, but Tony Parker will play.

[–]Raptorsobscuremainstream 7 points8 points ago

Popovich doesn't really care about seeding for whatever reason

[–]Spursmarkjoga 3 points4 points ago

To me, the 2-3-2 style of the finals makes it easier on the team without home court advantage.

[–]Trail BlazersLeafOnWind 4 points5 points ago

Or Portland will beat the Jazz Thursday! ... Nah.

[–]SunsEwingo401 1 point2 points ago

I don't think we do though. If we beat Utah then we'll own the tie breaker. So if we go on to lose to the Spurs we can still get in if Utah loses to the Blazers.

[–]Jazzsickyd 0 points1 point ago

I think he is saying to ensure playoffs for the Suns, you have to beat the Spurs. Obviously you have the tiebreaker, but you would be banking on the Jazz losing to Portland.

[–]SunsMattyIce21 1 point2 points ago

But no Frye for that game makes it just a tad difficult.

[–]Jazzhelix400 4 points5 points ago

These are the kinds of games where you wonder whether it's more fulfilling to:

1) Watch the game, get stressed out, know there's nothing you can do, get all worked up, and then relax and cheer/cope at the final score

2) Go outside and ignore all technology. Come back in and see the score. Cheer/cope at the final score.

#2 is probably wiser. But I'm addicted to #1.

[–]Pistonsnonamer18 0 points1 point ago

I have your back buddy.

[–]Netsmruptown 0 points1 point ago

That's why they call him the Nashinator.

[–]Lakersjquad666 28 points29 points ago

We're extremely lucky that this scheduled game just so happens to be between two teams fighting for the same spot. It's like the playoffs have already started and this is the first Game 7. Can't wait.

[–]Bullspiglet24 11 points12 points ago

Yep, Phoenix is basically down 3-2 right now. Gotta win 2 in a row to advance

[–]RaptorsLGom09 1 point2 points ago

Technically, Phoenix only needs to win tonight and then have the Jazz lose their next game to guarantee 8th (but yeah, winning 2 gets it done too).

[–]Timberwolvesholla171 7 points8 points ago

All of Timberwolves nation say it with me: LET'S GO JAZZ!

[–]Timberwolvesnosdunk 3 points4 points ago

Gotta get that draft pick.

[–]Timberwolvesholla171 4 points5 points ago

Dat pick.

[–]JazzToys_and_Bacon 12 points13 points ago

Yeah, so far. I'm calling OT and a close victory to Jazz.

[–]Jazzsickyd 14 points15 points ago

So many OT games this year. I've already had 5 heart attacks.

[–]HawksOldOrder 8 points9 points ago

I feel like Jazz fans and Hawks fans were the only ones to watch the best game of the year. Everyone else watched the Bulls Heat that night.

[–]JazzToys_and_Bacon 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, last game against Orlando was comfortable enough, but the one against Dallas was almost too much for me.

[–]Jazzbakdom146 1 point2 points ago

You were comfortable during that first quarter? You're more confident than I am after giving up 36 in a quarter.

[–]Jazzjkr801 17 points18 points ago

So excited to be a season ticket holder ATM GO JAZZ!!!

[–]HeatDemotic 29 points30 points ago

Ass to Mouth Go Jazz?

Damn you guys are fucking kinky.

[–]Jazzjkr801 6 points7 points ago

Thats how we roll... taking risks

[–]Jazz89vision 3 points4 points ago

[–]PacersDonnieNarco 6 points7 points ago

Gotta cheer for my man Gordon Hayward. I'd love to see him make the playoffs on a team that was supposed to be in a rebuilding years.

[–]Jazzbakdom146 2 points3 points ago

Oh, we are. This team will do far better than 34-30 over the next couple years. It's exciting stuff. (With that adjusted for a full season, of course)

[–][deleted] ago

[–]Jazzjkr801 10 points11 points ago here ya go my friend. go jazz

[–][deleted] ago

[–]Jazzjkr801 9 points10 points ago

that reaction.

[–]Lakersorsauce4 6 points7 points ago

welcome to the internet good sir, place your jacket in the coat room and enjoy your stay.

[–]Lakerssunsoutgunsout 2 points3 points ago

Haha, the issue is that the Spurs aren't even really "tanking" when the big 3 are out. The rest of their team is that solid that they can still beat a lot of teams out there. I think another factor will be how important will Home Court Advantage be to the Spurs in the finals against a potential Bulls matchup.

[–]Lakersdeveldevil 1 point2 points ago

While I agree that the Suns would be a better matchup for the Spurs, I really don't think they will tank any game on purpose.

[–]SunsStackOfMay 2 points3 points ago

As a new(ish) fan of basketball, this is so exciting. Previous games I've wanted the Suns to win, but this time it actually matters. If only it wasn't on in the middle of the night.

[–]SunsProdigyMUFC 2 points3 points ago

Haha, where are you from? Quite the same scenario for me too.

[–]SunsStackOfMay 0 points1 point ago

I'm in the UK. This better be worth it.

[–]Spurschewiie 1 point2 points ago

Spurs COULD have the choice of who they want to face. I hope they pick the Suns, so I can see a few games here in Phoenix :P

[–]Trail Blazerskvnandrsn 1 point2 points ago

Nash will go all out tonight, expect a big game from him.

[–]Sunsqtip83 1 point2 points ago

Suns should win this and I think the Spurs would rather play the Suns then the Jazz so they may tank the last game.

[–]Sunsporkaxe 0 points1 point ago

Pop has to be smart enough to see this. Spurs would crush the Suns without effort. Ugh, I can't believe I'm rooting for a win today and a win Thurs just to lose to the Spurs.

[–]Sunsqtip83 0 points1 point ago

Losing to the Spurs in the playoffs again may crush the Suns organization for a while. We HATE the Spurs.

[–]LakersGo0n 1 point2 points ago

Silly Sonics, you aren't the Suns.

[–]SunsCrazium 0 points1 point ago

Yeah like last time. OH WAIT

[–]KingsWisteriaHysteria 1 point2 points ago

I wanna see the Suns win this one because this will likely be their last hurrah before rebuilding-hell for the next few years. Jazz on the other-hand - screw them for skipping the normal rebuilding-hell when they fleeced the Nets for Deron Williams. (* intense jealousy *)

[–]Sunsjakeg1116 0 points1 point ago

such good management, the suns basically gave away picks in the good years, the jazz stockpiled them

[–]Jazzbb0112c 1 point2 points ago

I can't wait for it to start. This Heat-Celtics game is awful.

[–]SunsAiragnis 1 point2 points ago

As an NBA fan I want to congratulate Utah for making it to the playoffs. As a Suns fan, I sincerely hope San Antonio destroys you :)

[–]Jazzllyr 2 points3 points ago

"Hey llyr, are you going to your bible study tonight that's at the same time as the Jazz-Suns game?"

[–]LakersGo0n 0 points1 point ago

If the Jazz lose, you're to blame. They just needed a fan to pray for them...

[–]Jazzllyr 0 points1 point ago

Don't worry, there's plenty of other Mormons interceding on the Jazz's behalf tonight. :D

[–]Jazzseejaydeja 2 points3 points ago

I'll be shit canned screaming from the nose bleeds with the rest of em, lets do this Jazz!

[–]TimberwolvesJupitersClock 2 points3 points ago

[–]Jazzsomedudeinlosangeles 2 points3 points ago

Huge, huge fucking game. I will be watching it from work and yelling internally.

[–]hihi44 0 points1 point ago

not sure if its ok to ask this but is there any stream where i can watch this?

[–]Sunszed_zed_top 2 points3 points ago

They're usually pretty good for having most NBA games.

[–]PistonsA_Monocle_For_Sauron 1 point2 points ago

Has anyone had any success with their StreamTorrent program that seems to be required for a lot of games now? I've tried it out once but the video quality didn't seem very good.

[–]hihi44 0 points1 point ago

ok thanks I will check that link out later tonight

[–]SunsProdigyMUFC 0 points1 point ago

A win would be great but it won't be easy. Interesting to see who Alvin starts with at PF. Hopefully Morris and Hak will have good games.

[–]USAMontanaDaMac 0 points1 point ago

can't wait. it's going to be very intense!!

[–]Knickskoolkat347 0 points1 point ago

i was never a fan of these teams but i'm fucking exited for this game.

[–]A_Slow_Descent 0 points1 point ago

I am more excited for the very last scheduled game of the season where kobe is going to score 50 and beat durant regardless of how many shots it takes.

[–]SunsCrazium 0 points1 point ago

Important: Is the Spurs game against the Spurs or their bench?

[–]Raptorsstrangefuture 0 points1 point ago

Gotta love living on the west coast. Perfect time for a big game. Go suns!

[–]Sunsthewarpanda 0 points1 point ago

You know that feeling when you can feel impending disappointment, but you are in denial?

[–]AustraliaProcc 0 points1 point ago

Dam is Lopez looking a lot better this season? After his back problems he looked like he had a lot of trouble finishing and even running down the court. I closely watched him play in the LA clippers game and he looked really good, also I didn't mind seeing him ejected, it was totally worth it.

He is also looking good tonight so far.

[–]Maverickscocsukr 0 points1 point ago

I really feel bad for Nash.

[–]TimberwolvesThrillhouse763 0 points1 point ago

[–]Knickstherealjgreens -2 points-1 points ago

Biggest of the NBA season for those 2 teams.

[–]Dudensen 2 points3 points ago

I disagree. So far it's the most important game of the season.

[–]Jazzsomedudeinlosangeles 0 points1 point ago

Great article as well....balanced.

[–]JazzCrunketh 0 points1 point ago

Just showing my support.

[–]ThunderBigChiefWiggum -1 points0 points ago

No chance for the Suns. The big men for the Jazz are too big of big men.

[–]Sunsboognerd 2 points3 points ago

Which explains why we won the first two games.

[–]ThunderBigChiefWiggum -1 points0 points ago

Guaransheed they don't make it to the playoffs doe.

[–]Sunsqtip83 0 points1 point ago

Suns have won the last 7 meetings between the two teams.

[–]Celticssncho 0 points1 point ago

Why is buddy getting downvoted. Thats exactly whats been happening for these first 2 quarters.

[–]BullsRhenio -2 points-1 points ago

Spurs might end choosing who they get.

thats kind of absurd...

If the Suns win. It will be in the hands of Spurs. If they win they'll get Utah if they lose they get Suns.

I don't know if you can do anything about that but i don't think that is fair competition.

Think about it, if this was the situation last year and Spurs could choose between Memphis or Suns...

[–]LakersRavR 3 points4 points ago

Why is that not fair competition lol, everything just happened to line up for them.

[–]Spursbadalchemist 2 points3 points ago

Pop may be willing to prioritize the health of his players over regular season games, but I don't see him purposely tanking to play one team or another.

[–]BullsRhenio -3 points-2 points ago

They might not do it, but the fact that they could is unfair competition, in my point of view

[–]Spursbadalchemist 0 points1 point ago

Perhaps, but I'm not sure what the league can do about it at this point. The schedule was set months in advance.

[–]LakersGo0n 1 point2 points ago

Also, nobody thought the Suns would be competing for a playoff spot. Or that the Spurs would be #1 seed.

[–]Jazzdelacook -1 points0 points ago

East coast resident here, it's gonna be a late night. You got this jazz!!

[–][deleted] ago

[–]LakersRavR 1 point2 points ago

Dont have to, Memphis was in the same position Utah/Phoenix is in now. Everyone thought SA would steamroll them. Watch more than 4th quarters and the finals :P

[–]Jazzsomedudeinlosangeles 1 point2 points ago

Exactly. While the Spurs are definitely an incredible team, things happen...

[–]Sunszed_zed_top 3 points4 points ago*

Prove what wrong? Your massive assumption or your terrible grammar? Anyway don't forget the Warriors-Mavericks series from years ago or Griz-Spurs from last year. Anything can happen.

For anyone wondering, he said something to the tune of "Their(sic) competing for who(sic) gets eliminated in the first round. Prove me wrong."
