Biography: Hype has already surrounded Wroten for years, and he's still just 19 as he prepares to be a likely first-round pick in the NBA draft. Although he only spent one season at Washington, the Seattle native made the most of it, earning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and first-team all-conference honors while helping the Huskies win the league's regular-season title by averaging 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists. The year ended on a somewhat sour note for Wroten, who scored a season-high 29 points in the Pac-12 tournament quarterfinals but missed four late free throws in an 86-84 loss to ninth-seeded Oregon State. Washington then missed the NCAA tournament, and Wroten averaged just 10.5 points on 34.1 percent shooting in four NIT games. Shooting is one of the areas of concern for the left-handed point guard, who possesses great quickness and court vision and is at his best when attacking the basket or setting up teammates. He shot just 9 of 56 (16.1 percent) from 3-point range at Washington and 58.3 percent on free throws. He also will have to improve his right hand and cut down on his turnovers as a pro after he had more giveaways (132) than assists (130) in 2011-12. A big point guard who likes to drive off the dribble, Wroten often draws comparisons to Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans. He should be a solid defender at the next level, but the question remains whether he can translate his immense physical gifts - he comes from a deep family of athletes, including cousin and fellow Washington alum Nate Robinson - into efficiency on offense in the NBA.
