Darius Miller
Round 2, Pick 46
Position: SF
Class: Senior
School: Kentucky
Conference: SEC
HT: 6'8"
WT: 225 lbs.
Biography: Miller stuck around at Kentucky for four years - a rarity - and the decision paid off with a national championship in 2012. While he was overshadowed throughout his career by flashier younger teammates, Miller may have a bright future in the NBA as well. After starting 69 games his sophomore and junior seasons, he primarily came off the bench as a senior, averaging 9.9 points while shooting 37.6 percent from 3-point range. Despite taking on a smaller role and seeing his minutes decline, Miller improved his mid-range shot to go along with his role as a long-range threat. He has also worked on his ball-handling skills and cut down on turnovers since a giveaway-prone freshman season. The biggest concern surrounding Miller is that he can be too passive, often deferring to teammates, and may need to be considerably more aggressive to be a factor in the NBA. With his size and athleticism, he has the potential to be a much bigger threat offensively and defensively than he was with the Wildcats, and he needs to be more productive on the boards. Still, NBA teams like his size and ability to shoot from outside. Miller is projected to go in the second round.
