Though Steve Kerr hit the winning shot in Game 6 of the 1997 Finals, the game's crucial basket may have been the off-balance three-pointer by Jud Buechler late in the third quarter, which cut Utah's lead to six and sparked a Bulls run. "That got the crowd going, picked up everybody," says Scottie Pippen. This year, with Pippen out for at least two months and Toni Kukoc battling a sore foot, the 6'6" Buechler could see big minutes. The eight-year veteran from Arizona, whom Michael Jordan calls "Mr. Fundamental," will get the call when the Bulls need a boost. "If things are going poorly and we need a shot of adrenaline," says coach Phil Jackson, "Jud can give us that."
