The arrival of forwards Shawn Kemp and Wesley Person directly impacted the immediate futures of both Danny Ferry and Donny Marshall, a seldom-used third-year man who has averaged just 2.8 points on 33% shooting in two seasons with Cleveland. Coach Mike Fratello will likely use Ferry to spell Kemp, while Marshall will fill in for Person. Marshall is a decent long-range shooter who works hard and plays with a lot of heart. Though he is great at nothing, he is adept at a lot of things. He may not be good enough to start for this Cavs team, but he will be given a chance to contribute off the bench. "I'm sure by now Donny realizes this is a great opportunity," says Fratello. "I hope he is looking at the newspaper and saying, 'I've got a real chance to show what I can do in this league.'" |
