Talk about a flash of brilliance. Against the Celtics last April 4, Clippers forward Lamond Murray scored 24 points, pulled down seven rebounds and added a steal and a block—all in a span of 16 minutes. "That's superstar stuff," coach Bill Fitch said after that game. Fitch doesn't expect Murray, who left Cal after his junior year and was the seventh pick in the 1994 draft, to explode that way every night, but he does think he'll improve on last season's averages of 7.4 points and 3.1 rebounds. "He's grown up in the past three years," Fitch says. "The last two years he was a little ways from getting in the zone. Now he's a more consistent shooter, and he makes better decisions. I like his game."
