Forget the three layups that swingman Shandon Anderson missed in the last game of the championship series against the Bulls. Overall, the 23-year-old Anderson had a fine rookie season for Utah, averaging 5.9 points per game, and figures to have an even better second season. At 6'6", 210 pounds, Anderson can spell shooting guard Jeff Hornacek against the bigger, more physical 2-guards in the league. Plus he is big enough to play small forward. Anderson eased into the Utah system very smoothly last season, in part because he is exactly what the team needed—a versatile, athletic guy who can take the ball to the basket. And he's loyal to boot: He was eligible for free agency after last season, and although 10 teams were interested in signing him, Anderson accepted a two-year, $2.5 million deal to stay with the Jazz.
