Michael Jordan is the greatest team-sport athlete ever, and
that is not even open to debate. And then there's the
experience he has attained going up against players such as
Magic, Larry, Malone, Stockton, etc. With all that, you
would have to be a
fool to bet against
him.

If Mike hadn't retired when he did he would have never had
the desire to go all the way. By getting away from the
game, he could draw on a new
challenge.
John Clark, Stillwater,
Okla.
When the run is finally over, MJ, Scottie and the rest of
the Bulls will show the NBA world how to lose in style on
the court, just as they've shown it how to
win.
Lothar Wedekind, Tomahawk,
Wis.
The Bulls' general manager needs to go work for the Florida
Marlins.
Ray Nordland, Lake Elsinore,
Calif.
I feel MJ was having a hard time finding a challenge in the
game when he left. That, compounded with the loss of his
father, would have worn on him so greatly he would not have
been able to give his all to the
game.
Gabe, Belen,
N.M.
Would the Bulls have won eight in a
row? The pressure of each successive title would have built to
such an astronomical level, not even The Great One (Michael
Jordan) could have survived it. Much as I hate to see
Michael leave, I really think he should
retire now. Next year, they won't get past Indiana, let
alone Utah. They walked the razor's edge this year, twice,
and fell off on the right
side.
Mark Blubaugh, Lewisville,
Texas
People forget that it took six years before the Bulls
surrounded Jordan with the talent to win a championship.
Would they have found the right mix of players in '94 and
'95? It's impossible to
know.
Drew Degentesh,
Pittsburgh
I know this isn't part of the question, but why does Jerry
Krause still have a
job?
Tony Williams, Lincoln,
Neb.
That momentarily frozen follow-throughit could as
well have been a wave
goodbye.
Sid Garcia, Quezon City,
Phillippines
The opposing team is playing five on eight (counting the
referees). The Bulls always cry about not getting calls
and they get more than any team in the history of the
NBA.
Derek Brown, Wichita Falls,
Kan.
For God's sake, retire, Michael. Give some other team a
chance at a
title.
Christopher Bennett, Salt Lake
City
Just like Kareem, Bird and Magic, he needs to continue his
drive towards more championships until he no longer can, or
is physically not able to. Leaving when you're at the top
is not a mark of great player. He needs to be certain that
he gave the game
all he
could.
Aashish Patel, Portland,
Ore.
The Bulls have no major rival capable of knocking them off
because they play in a watered-down league. How many
titles would the Celtics have won if Magic and his crew
never existed? How many titles would the Lakers have won if
Bird and his crew never
existed?
Kelly Woodall, Boise,
Idaho
Being a true Celtics fan, I've seen what it means to be a
true champion in Larry Bird. I wasn't sold on the Bulls
until I watched them beat the Pacers in the seventh game
this season. They showed great character in that
series.
Chuck Dandreta, Amherst,

If Michael retires, so will
I.
Christine Taylor, San Jose,
Calif.
