The Knicks have recruited a team full of A-listers to court LeBron. No, really. They put together a comittee filled with some of the city’s biggest names to lure free-agent superstars in July.
Under the team’s grand plan, the stars would meet with the free agents, boast about their beloved city and even show them around town. The Knicks themselves can’t do it before the free agency period begins July 1, so in the mean time, their celebrity fans will help out. How nice of them.
“The enthusiastic response we have received from so many people wanting to help has been overwhelming and we look forward to working with this committee in various ways to show free agents that there is no better place to play and to win than in the world’s most famous arena and in New York City,” Knicks spokesman Barry Watkins told the New York Post.
