Knicks plan to wine and dine The King

The Knicks are planning an elaborate meal for LeBron and his friends July 1.

It looks like the New York Knicks Ring Pop is just the dessert. The Knicks are planning to host an elaborate meal and meeting with The King and his posse at a high-end location in Manhattan during the afternoon and evening of July 1, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer‘s Brian Windhorst.

The Knicks are scouring the city for a high-rise condo or apartment with a great view to rent out for the shindig. Apparently they know stalkers (me!) would likely make the rounds from posh spots liek 21 Club to Tao.

LeBron is expected to make multiple visits to cities interested in acquiring him — L.A. Clippers, Miami, Chicago — in a similar fashion to his recruiting visits as an 18-year-old. When he was coming out of high schoo, Reebok, Adidas and Nike tried to woo him with chartered flights and week-long trips to Malibu in hopes he would sign with their company. Nike won, of course.

So now the Knicks are hoping a fancy meal in a penthouse suite will do the trick. I wonder if Jay-Z and Beyonce will be there. This could be bigger than the Presidential State Dinner. Guaranteed. [Plain Dealer]
