Jay-Z was on The David Letterman show this week and … well, you know. He talked about LeBron. Of course.
While Jay-Z tried to remain neutral and say as little as possible on the matter, Letterman didn’t shy away from offering his opinion.
“If LeBron James wants to be a guy, he will stay where he is and not cut the heart out of that city by leaving Cleveland,” Letterman said. ”You wouldn’t do that if you were a player. Cleveland is in decline — sad but true — and one of the glimering hopes they have is LeBron …
“If there was humanity in this man, you’d do the same. You know why? Because you’re a guy.”
While Jay-Z only offered up the response “But this is New York!” (and we all secretly began to sing Empire State of Mind to ourselves), Letterman rendered him speechless.
This is … hilarious. But it’s worth asking: Will Jay-Z get fined for tampering?
