Clock is ticking on Rodman's fame

Every available inch of skin has been tattooed. There are no more body parts to pierce. He has worn hot pants and boas, donned wedding dresses and repeatedly dyed his hair.

His life story has been Written -- twice. There's no one left for him to kick or rassle, head butt or elbow. It's not even news anymore when he skips practice, parties with midgets, insults a religion or blows 50 grand in Las Vegas.

So, is my watch slow or was Dennis Rodman's 15 minutes of fame supposed to be up two years ago?

Even at 37 Rodman is still the best rebounder in the NBA. You can't deny him that.

But off the court, guys like Rodman quickly run out of ways to shock us, so the act loses it's appeal. Think: Mr. T, or Vanilla Ice.

Worm disease: Some way, some how, Dennis Rodman's (left) 15-minutes of fame keep going TNT

So why hasn't that happened to Rodman yet?

I mean everywhere you look 12-year-olds and grandmas are sporting orange hair and pierced noses. It's no big deal anymore.

The guy is so mainstream that Karl Malone is taking career advice from him. Where's his Got Milk ad?

Maybe, if the Bulls break up and Rodman goes to a mediocre team that doesn't play in the spotlight every year his star will finally fade and the longest 15 minutes in history will, thankfully, come to an end.

Me, I'll be counting the seconds. And hoping this hole in my nose will heal.
