Marv Albert (shown before a Knicks contest last week) will broadcast games for TNT and TBS. AP

ATLANTA (CNN/SI) -- Turner Sports is expected to announce Monday that Marv Albert will join Turner Sports this spring for some late season NBA games and playoff telecasts on TNT and TBS Superstation.

The agreement also will have Albert working other sports events for Turner Sports.

Madison Square Garden Network reported Sunday night that Albert will join the national cable network in late March or early April. Albert will remain as host of MSG's "Sportsdesk" during the week and is expected to continue as the radio voice for New York Knicks home games.

Albert is best known as NBC's lead NBA voice from 1990 through 1998, and spent 20 years with the network before being fired in 1997 after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge in Virginia.
