SEATTLE (Ticker) -- With much of last season's team still on the roster, the Seattle SuperSonics pulled away in the second half en route to a 96-85 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers in the exhbition opener for both teams. The closest the Clippers got was three points midway through the second quarter. The Sonics had a 62-49 lead when they ran off seven straight points. The only veteran pickup in the offseason, forward Calvin Booth contributed seven rebounds for the Sonics, who won the battle on the glass, 50-39.
