ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- In a battle between superstars, Gary Payton made big shots and Tracy McGrady made mistakes.

Payton scored seven of his 32 points in the final 1:52 and McGrady faltered down the stretch as the Seattle SuperSonics opened a five-game road trip with an exhausting 123-119 double-overtime victory over the Orlando Magic.

McGrady opened the second overtime with a jumper that gave the Magic a 113-111 lead, their first since the opening quarter. Orlando fell behind before McGrady made a spinning layup to tie it with 2:13 to go.

Payton scored five straight points around a layup by Orlando's Grant Hill to give Seattle a 120-117 lead. Another layup by Hill cut the deficit to one and Payton was called for traveling with 40 seconds ledt.

Orlando put the ball in the hands of McGrady, who made an errant pass out of bounds. Payton nailed 1-of-2 free throws for a 121-119 edge and McGrady missed a layup with 14 seconds remaining as Seattle escaped with its first road victory.

Payton made 11-of-23 shots and dished out 11 assists. Rashard Lewis posted career highs with 36 points and 19 rebounds but made just one shot in the final 16 minutes.

McGrady had 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists but made just 10-of-26 shots. Hill added 28 points and eight rebounds for Orlando, which began a stretch of nine straight games against Western Conference opponents.
