NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) -- Jereal Scott scored 18 points and Stephen F. Austin cruised to an 84-43 victory over Centenary Friday night in its season opener.
Desmond Haymon and Antonio Bostic had 16 points each for the Lumberjacks, and Taylor Smith added 13. Stephen F. Austin used an 18-0 run to put the game out of reach early and led 49-16 at halftime.
Maxx Nakwaasah was the only player in double figures for Centenary with 19 points. The Gentlemen made more free throws (14) than field goals (13) in the game.
Centenary played its first game since moving to Division III. The Gentlemen won just one game in Division I last season.
