INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Andrew Smith scored 11 points to lead four players in double figures as Butler defeated Savannah State 57-42 in the Hoosier Invitational on Monday night.
Chase Stigall, Jackson Aldridge and Roosevelt Jones scored 10 points each for the Bulldogs (2-2), who used a 20-3 second-half run to take over the game.
Preston Blackmon scored 13 points and Rashad Hassan 10 for the Tigers (1-4).
Blackmon's 3-pointer gave Savannah State a lead early in the second half, but Jones sparked the Butler run over the next 9:44 with six points. When Smith hit two free throws to complete the surge, the Bulldogs were in control, leading 40-26.
