LAS VEGAS (AP) -- David Hanson scored 17 points to lead Cal Poly over Morgan State 62-61 in the third round of the Las Vegas Invitational on Friday.
Morgan State scored the game's last seven points, but the Bears' Ameer Ali missed both free throws with 1.1 seconds after driving to the basket.
Will Taylor had 12 points and six rebounds for Cal Poly (3-2), which shot 50 percent from the field and converted 10 3-pointers. Amaurys Fermin had 12 points and six assists for the Mustangs, who will play Mississippi Valley State in the final round Saturday.
Kevin Thompson led Morgan State (0-5) with 23 points and five rebounds. Ian Chiles and Ali each had 10 points for the Bears, who shot 48 percent from the field. Ali also had eight rebounds.
Morgan State plays Tennessee State in the final round Saturday.
