POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) -- Chavaughn Lewis scored 23 points to lead Marist in an 81-73 win over Colgate on Saturday night.
Both teams shot under 50 percent, with Marist going 26 of 57 (45.6 percent) and Colgate 43.8 percent (28 of 64), and both teams turned it over 17 times. However, the Red Foxes (2-4) scored 17 points off those turnovers, compared to 12 by the Raiders (2-3).
The Raiders also had a poor night from the free-throw line, going there just eight times and making only four shots. Marist was 23 of 29 from the foul line (79.3 percent).
Marist outrebounded the Raiders 42-31, with Adam Kemp grabbing 10 boards for the Red Foxes.
Manny Thomas added 13 points and Devin Price 12 for Marist, which outscored Colgate 15-7 on second chances.
Sterling Melville led the Raiders with 20 points, and Mitch Rolls added 13.
