LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) -- Wendell McKines had 23 points and 17 rebounds as New Mexico State defeated McNeese State 82-62 on Wednesday night.
McKines hit 9 of 13 shots, including 4 of 5 3-point shots, to lead the Aggies (8-4) to their third straight victory. Christian Kabongo added 15 points and Bandja Sy 13.
Patrick Richard had 21 points and Jeremie Mitchell 12 for McNeese State (4-7).
New Mexico State, which shot 58 percent from the field, never trailed in the game. The Aggies pulled away for good with an 11-0 run that gave them a 25-11 lead with 9:14 left in the first half. Sy had five points during the surge and McKines closed it out with a jumper.
New Mexico State led 36-25 at halftime and increased that lead to as many as 22 points in the final minute.
