FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) -- Ryan Pearson had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Mike Morrison added 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead George Mason to an 81-61 win over Manhattan on Friday night, breaking the Jaspers' five-game winning streak.
Pearson, the Patriots' leading scorer, hit two free throws just before halftime to give George Mason (8-4) a two-point lead, 27-25, at the half despite missing 8 of 19 free throws.
Just three points shy of a career-high, Pearson scored 17 points in the second half, including 10 in the first 7:10, to help give George Mason a 46-38 lead.
The Patriots extended their lead to 57-42 with 8:18 remaining on a dunk by Morrison and two 3-pointers by Vertrail Vaughns, who added 13 points.
Manhattan (8-5), which averaged a margin of nearly 21 points in its longest winning streak in nearly five years, was led by George Beamon's 18.
The Jaspers committed 22 turnovers.
