STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) -- Dave Coley scored 16 points to lead Stony Brook to a 79-62 win over Rider on Friday night, snapping the Broncs' two-game winning streak.
The Seawolves (5-6), who won their second straight game, defeated Rider for the first time in four tries and have a six-game home winning streak.
Stony Brook led by as many as 20 in the first half and 37-19 at the break.
The Broncs (3-11) cut the deficit to eight points at 61-53 on a Jeff Jones 3-pointer with 6:07 left, but could get no closer. Rider made only two baskets in the final 3:20.
Dallis Joyner added 15 points for the Seawolves, while Bryan Dougher had 14 and Al Rapier 12.
Rider, led by Jones' 17 points, hit 12 of 27 3-pointers, with Jones making 5 of 10 from long range. Brandon Penn added 10 points and 11 rebounds. Daniel Stewart had 11 points.
