The first-place Wildcats (19-5, 13-1) were leading 13-8 in the first half when they scored 17 unanswered points to lead 30-8. Up 38-21 at intermission, they increased that lead to 20 midway through the second half. But Davidson went 7:46 without a basket and The Citadel (4-20, 1-12) cut the lead to eight points with 2:01 left.

Mike Groselle had a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double for the Bulldogs, who were just 3 for 18 on treys.
