PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Drew Viney scored 16 points and Loyola Marymount hit 10 three-pointers as the Lions beat Portland 76-62 Thursday night.

Loyola Marymount (16-9, 9-3 WCC) had five players score in double figures. The Lions shot 51 percent from the floor and went 10 of 19 from 3-point range.

Tanner Riley and Ryan Nicholas scored 13 points each for Portland (6-19, 3-9).

Loyola Marymount led nearly the entire game, but had trouble putting away Portland. The Lions spurted to an early 21-9 lead, but Derrick Rodgers' half-court 3-pointer at the buzzer pulled the Pilots to within 29-25 at halftime.

Loyola Marymount controlled the second half, but didn't finish the Pilots until late. The Lions led 47-36, but Portland was able to cut the deficit to 63-57 with 4:08 remaining on two free throws by Thomas van der Mars. The Lions finally ran away when LaRon Armstead scored the team's final 13 points.
