CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Mathiang Muo scored 21 points, going 5 for 7 from 3-point range, to lead Charleston Southern to a 73-58 Big South Conference victory over Gardner-Webb on Tuesday night.
Muo, who set a Charleston Southern record with eight 3-pointers in a 70-67 win over High Point on Saturday, hit a 3 with 13:09 remaining to start a 15-4 run for the Buccaneers (16-10, 10-6) after Gardner-Webb (11-17, 6-10) had taken its only lead of the second half.
A layup by Muo with 4:46 left capped the run and gave Charleston Southern a 63-51 lead.
Kelvin Martin finished with 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting for the Buccaneers and Paul Gombwer had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Charleston Southern shot 53.8 percent (28 of 52) for the game.
Tashan Newsome and Laron Buggs scored nine points each to lead Gardner-Webb, which won the teams' first meeting this season 80-77 on Jan. 10.
