NEW YORK (AP) -- George Beamon scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Manhattan cruised to a 90-77 win over Canisius on Friday night, sweeping the season series.
Beamon, was 13 of 16 from the field in posting his second double-double of the season for the Jaspers (20-10, 12-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who have won 11 of their last 14 games.
Manhattan led by eight in the first half, but the Golden Griffins stayed within reach. Gaby Belardo's 3-pointer closed the gap to three before Emmy Andujar's trey made it 42-36 at the break
The Jaspers, who beat Canisius 78-66 on Jan. 27, stretched the lead to as many as 24 in the second half.
Alshwan Hymes had 23 points and Belardo 19 to lead the Golden Griffins, who were back in the loss column after a 73-66 win over Maryland-Baltimore County on Feb. 18 halted a 10-game losing streak.
