The Lions (10-17, 3-11) ran the clock down for a last shot, but Antonnio Benton's jumper went off the rim, ending Central Arkansas' 10-game losing streak. Southeastern Louisiana was eliminated from contention for the conference tournament.
Oliver Wells had 10 points for the Bears.
Benton had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Daron Populist 12 points for Southeastern Louisiana, who suffered a second straight tough loss. The Lions were beaten by Texas State on a shot at the buzzer on Wednesday.
Populist's basket put the Lions up by five points with a minute remaining, but Jarvis Garner made a 3-pointer to get Central Arkansas within 63-61 with 27 seconds left. Patterson missed two free-throw attempts at the other end, and the Bears took possession for Miles' three-point play.
