LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- Mike Muscala finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds, and hit two late free throws to help Bucknell beat George Mason 61-56 Tuesday night.

Trailing 59-54 with 1:20 left, Bryon Allen's steal and layup cut Bucknell's lead to three. That was the closest George Mason (1-1) would get.

After Patrick Holloway's missed 3-point shot with 10 seconds to go, Muscala grabbed the rebound and was fouled. He hit both free throws to put Bucknell (2-0) up by five and seal the victory.

Muscala's two late free throws broke Bill Courtney's previous school record of 400 career makes, and now gives him 402 for his career. Joe Willman added 10 points for Bucknell (2-0).

Muscala scored the first two baskets of the game helping Bucknell start on a 10-2 run. Bucknell led at halftime 31-27.

Bryson Johnson also scored 16 points for Bucknell.
