The Shockers led 38-27 at halftime and maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half. James Woodard scored 15 points to lead the Golden Hurricane (4-3).

Hall and Early scored nine points each in the first half.

Wichita State leads the all-time series 62-60. The teams were rivals for decades in the Missouri Valley Conference.
