GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- Lamont Middleton scored 24 points, 12 in each half, to lead North Carolina A&T to a 90-79 victory over UNC Greensboro Wednesday night in nonconference play.
The Aggies (3-5), who led 42-30 at halftime, also got double-figure scoring from Jeremy Underwood, who came off the bench to score 22 points. He made two early 3-point attempts and went 12 for 14 at the free throw line.
Teammate Bruce Beckford added 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the floor.
The Aggies took their 12-point halftime lead after closing the first half on a 16-5 run. But Kayel Locke kept UNC Greensboro (1-5) in it after the break. He led the Spartans with 22 points, including 14 of 16 from the foul line, but it wasn't enough.
Teammate Trevis Simpson, who leads the Southern Conference in scoring, had 17 points while Derrell Armstrong and Drew Parker scored 11 apiece.
