NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Ian Clark scored 22 points to lead Belmont past Tennessee State 78-66 Saturday night in a contest between the two remaining undefeated teams in Ohio Valley Conference play.
The Bruins (15-4, 6-0) held the Tigers to only one made field goal in the first 11:12 to lead 22-3.
Brandon Baker's 3-pointer expanded the cushion to 30-7 before Jordan Cyphers scored 11 points, including three 3-pointers, to get the Tigers within 35-22 at halftime.
Tennessee State closed to 44-40 with 13:17 left, but Belmont hit four straight 3-pointers in a 2:11 span to lead 57-42 with 8:55 remaining. The Tigers could get no closer than eight from there as they saw their seven-game winning streak end.
Cyphers finished with 23 points and was 7 of 10 from long range.
Kerron Johnson added 17 points and Trevor Noack 16 for the Bruins, who have won seven straight against the Tigers (12-8, 6-1).
