NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- P.J. Miller scored 13 points and New Jersey Institute of Technology got off to a fast start in a 64-51 victory over Texas-Pan American Saturday in Great West Conference play.

The Highlanders (10-10, 3-0) trailed briefly in the first minute, took a 36-20 halftime lead and led by 19 points in the second half.

Miller got scoring help from Ky Howard, who came off the bench to score 12 points, and Chris Flores and Daquan Holliday (10 apiece).

For Texas-Pan American (10-11, 2-1), Brandon Provost and Jesus Delgado were the only players in double figures with 12 points each.

The Broncs, who'd won three games in a row, were 4 for 18 on 3-point attempts. Aaron Urbanus misfired on all five of his shots from beyond the arc.

NJIT won it at the foul line, hitting 16 of 28 foul shots while the Broncs were 7 for 13.
