OXFORD, Ohio (AP) -- Brian Walsh and Demetrius Treadwell scored 13 points apiece and Akron got hot in the second half to rally and edge Miami (Ohio) 54-50 Saturday in Mid-American Conference play.

The Zips extended their winning streak to 15 games, the longest active streak in the nation. Akron's 10-0 start in league play is the first in the MAC since Miami won 10-straight during the 1983-84 season.

Walsh and Treadwell combined to go 10-of-18 shooting for the Zips (19-4, 10-0), who shot 24 percent (6 of 25) in the first half and trailed 25-16 at halftime.

Alex Abreu, Akron's third-leading scorer, struggled from the field but dished out six assists. His lone field goal gave the Zips its first lead of the second half, 35-34, with 7:44 left to play.

Miami (8-14, 3-7) tied the game 45-45 but Akron outscored the RedHawks 8-1 over the next 2 minutes to seal the victory.
