DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Paul Scotland scored 16 points to lead four Bethune-Cookman scorers in double figures as it downed Howard 64-50 Monday night.

The Wildcats (10-16, 5-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) led 33-21 at halftime as Scotland hit three treys and scored 13 of his points before the break.

Howard (6-21, 3-10) made just 7 of 16 free throws in the first half and 16 of 27 overall after hitting only 14 of 24 from the line in a 46-45 loss to Florida A&M Saturday. The Bison made just 34.1 percent (15 of 44) from the field, including only 4 of 11 3-point attempts.

Mike Phillips led Howard with 13 points.

The Wildcats had lost four of five prior to Monday. Javoris Bryant, Adrien Coleman and Malik Jackson each added 12 points.

Bethune-Cookman held an 18-7 advantage in points off turnovers and a 24-12 edge in points off the bench.
