VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) -- Clancy Rugg scored 17 points as Vermont won its third straight and completed a season sweep of Binghamton with a 78-61 victory Thursday night.

The Catamounts (19-9, 11-4 America East Conference) also got 15 points from Sandro Carissimo and Luke Apfeld. Brian Voelkel added 11 rebounds, eight assists and three points on 3-of-4 free-throw shooting.

Binghamton (3-25, 1-14) has now lost nine straight. Jordan Reed paced the Bearcats with 18 points and nine rebounds, aiding his quest to become the first America East freshman to lead the league in both categories. The rookie had turned in four consecutive double-doubles entering Thursday and was averaging 16.9 points and 9.5 rebounds.

The Bearcats opened with an 18-11 lead, and Reed's jumper with 17:02 left in the game tied it 37-37. Vermont responded with a 16-5 run, though, and Apfeld's 3-pointer with 10 seconds left set the final 17-point margin.
