DAYTON, Ohio (Ticker) -- No. 23 Dayton tries to bounce back from its first loss of the season when it hosts Wofford on Monday night.
Dayton (9-1) was humbled in its first real test of the season with an 82-53 setback at Cincinnati on Tuesday. The Flyers trailed by as many as 23 points in the first half and were never competitive.
Flyers coach Brian Gregory suffered his first loss. Gregory's 9-0 start Dayton career was the second-best in school history.
Center Sean Finn has emerged as Dayton's major scoring threat. The 7-footer is averaging 19.8 points and is the school's career field-goal percentage leader at 65.4 percent.
Wofford (3-6) lost its third straight with a 90-59 setback to Vanderbilt on December 20. Sam Daniels scored 14 points to lead the Terriers.
Dayton will induct six players into its Athletic Hall of Fame in conjunction of the 100th anniversary of varsity basketball at the school.
