DALLAS (Ticker) -- Justin Gray, Eric Williams and No. 9 Wake Forest appear to be in good shape entering Atlantic Coast Conference play.
Gray and Williams scored 22 points apiece as the Demon Deacons remained undefeated with a 78-66 triumph over Southern Methodist.
Jamaal Levy had 14 points and Chris Paul added 12 for Wake Forest (6-0), which visits ACC rival North Carolina on Saturday.
The game was tied, 14-14, before the Demon Deacons went on an 11-0 run. Gray, who had three 3-pointers during the burst, made it 25-14 with a shot from the arc with 11 1/2 minutes remaining in the first half, and the Mustangs (3-2) got no closer than four points thereafter.
Justin Isham had 15 points to pace the Mustangs, who trailed, 70-66, after Isham made a layup with 1:27 left, but they were blanked the rest of the way.
Both teams were sloppy, with Wake Forest committing 22 turnovers and SMU 20.
Williams had 10 rebounds and Levy eight for the Demon Deacons, who held a 39-31 advantage on the glass.
Gray, a reserve, made 7-of-13 shots, including 6-of-11 from the arc, for Wake Forest, which connected on 51 percent of its attempts (26-of-51). SMU shot 42 percent (27-of-65).
